InBev Closes Anheuser-Busch Acquisition
20.11.08 - Belgian brewer InBev Tuesday announced it has completed the acquisition of U.S. beer producer, Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc. (BUD | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), following approval from shareholders of both companies. The $52 billion deal makes the combined entity the world's largest brewer. [more]
Heineken launches new responsible drinking campaign
19.11.08 - Brewer Heineken has launched an international responsible drinking campaign called ‘Know The Signs’. The internet-based campaign is an extension of the five-year-old ‘Enjoy Heineken Responsibly’ programme, and is aimed at encouraging responsible drinking. [more]
New mixed beer drinks and alcohol-free refreshment with a malt base
19.11.08 - According to a study from the Society of Consumer Research, the demand for mixed beer drinks quantitatively increased by more than 3% during the first half of 2008 as compared to the same period in 2007, and sales grew by almost 11% at the same time. [more]
