Anheuser-Busch reaches deal with Teamsters
Chances are very good that the Anheuser-Busch plant in Baldwinsville will continue to operate for years to come. The company says it has reached a tentative agreement with full-time employees represented by the Teamsters union.
Highlights include wage increases totaling 15-percent over the life of the five-year deal.
Anheuser-Busch says it will also guarantee all 12 of its U.S. breweries will remain open for the duration of the contract.
The deal will remain in effect, even after Anheuser-Busch completes its pending merger with InBev.
There's just one catch: the promise to keep all of the breweries open is contingent on workers ratifying the new contract on its first vote. That vote is expected in November.
