Carlsberg rolls-out S&N speciality beers
Carlsberg UK has begun selling three speciality beers acquired as part of the take-over of Scottish and Newcastle (S&N) earlier this year. Baltika, Mythos and Grimbergen will now be sold and distributed through Carlsberg UK for both on and off-trade customers.
Baltika is Russia’s number one beer, Mythos is the number one Greek lager brand, and Grimbergen is a Belgium abbey beer brewed since 1128.
Carlsberg UK head of brands Paul Davies said: “Consumers are looking to explore new and different beers. As with the trends in food, beer drinkers are placing greater emphasis on provenance and authenticity as the growth in the market illustrates.
"The addition of these brands to the Carlsberg UK portfolio allows us to cater to this fast growing and ever more discerning market."
Carlsberg and Heineken jointly assumed ownership of S&N’s UK brewing and pub operations, as well as the group’s businesses in a number of European markets in March.
