Carlsberg UK adds three S&N beers to portfolio
Carlsberg UK has added three Scottish & Newcastle's specialty beers to its portfolio including: Baltika, Mythos, and Grimbergen, according to The Publican.
Carlsberg UK will now sell and distribute Scottish & Newcastle's (S&N) specialty beers to both on and off-trade customers.
These beers have been acquired by Carlsberg as part of its take-over of Scottish and Newcastle in early 2008. In partnership with Heineken, Carlsberg took control of S&N's businesses in a number of European markets along with the UK brewing and pub operations.
Paul Davies, head of brands at Carlsberg UK, said: "Consumers are looking to explore new and different beers. As with the trends in food, beer drinkers are placing greater emphasis on provenance and authenticity as the growth in the market illustrates. The addition of these brands to the Carlsberg UK portfolio allows us to cater to this fast growing and ever more discerning market."
